How Do You Make Smoke Cheez It — A Step by Step Guide

This recipe is super easy, so just follow along!

  • Mix all the ingredients but the cheese itz in a mixing bowl.
  • Toss the cheese it’s with the sauce in an aluminum foil pan or on a large cookie sheet.
  • Smoke at 250 for 3-4 hours until the crackers are crispy and no longer wet from the sauce.
  • Place in a Tupperware storage container for up to two weeks.
  • 12.4 oz cheez it crackers
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup Excalibur prime Rib Rub

Turn on your pellet smoker and preheat it to 250℉.

Step 2:

While waiting for the pellet grill to heat up, drizzle the olive oil (or melted butter) onto the crackers.

Then be sure to gently rub your favorite seasoning onto the Cheez Its.

Step 3:

After that, just place the seasoned crackers onto a baking tray that’s been lined with parchment paper.

Step 4:

Put the tray of prepped Cheez Its into the smoker grill.

Step 5:

Let it all smoke for an hour at 250℉ or until the crackers are crispy and no longer wet from the sauce.

Step 6:

Take the tray out and do your best to flip over all of the tiny crackers. Then place the tray back into the grill and increase the heat to 220 ℉.

Let it smoke for another half an hour.

Step 7:

Take the smoked crackers out and place it on a cooling rack for at least 20 minutes before serving it up.

Place in a Tupperware storage container for up to two weeks.

After You Smoke It — How to Store Your Smoked Cheez Its

If you do happen to have any leftovers then you have to make sure that you store it in an airtight container.

If you use an ordinary container that leaves the smoked crackers exposed to any sort of moisture, then it will soften.

This will ruin its nice crispy texture and the Cheez Its may even end up tasting stale.

Let’s say they do end up softening a little over time, what can you do?

Firing up your pellet smoker for a couple of crackers may be a little too much work.

So, if you do need to crisp up your Cheez Its a little, then just preheat your oven to 180 ℉ and place your crackers in.

The Best Accompaniment to This Smoked Snack

Smoked Cheez Its are perfect with an ice cold beer or a glass of wine.

It’s definitely leveled up our movie nights at home.

Once you’ve put the kids to bed and just want some ‘me time’, it feels so good to just open up a bottle of wine and munch on these smoked crackers.

If you’re not a fan of wine, then champagne and even soda pairs nicely with this snack too!
