Smoked Pineapple

Charlie
Smoking pineapple brings out the glorious natural sweetness. This meaty fruit takes on a whole new life after a bit of time on the grill!

Equipment

  • Grill

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Whole Pineapple
  • .5 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Honey
  • 2 tbsp Cinnamon

Instructions

  • Mix the sugar, honey and cinnamon in a small bowl and combine well.
  • First cut off the top of the pineapple with a sharp knife. Remove the skin and cut out the sharp eyes of the pineapple. Then cut the pineapple any way you desire – wedges, halved, rings.
  • Coat over the entire pineapple with the rub. Preheat the grill to 225-250°F and pick the woodchips your going to use. I recommend a mild flavor like cherrywood or applewood.
  • Place the pineapple directly on the grill and smoke for 30 minutes. Then flip the pineapple and smoke for another 30 minutes then remove
