Equipment

  • Charcoal or gas grill
  • Grilling pan or aluminum foil
  • Meat thermometer
  • Basting brush

Ingredients

  • 8-10 lb Spiral ham

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 tbs Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • White wine
  • Worcestershire Sauce
  • Balsamic Vinegar
  • Soy sauce
  • Smoked paprika
  • Black pepper
  • Cayenne
  • Garlic powder

Instructions

Step 1: Prep The Ham

  • Firstly, you'll want to position the ham flat side down in disposable aluminum pans to prepare it for grilling.

Step 2: Make The Glaze!

  • In a medium-sized bowl, you'll want to mix all the ingredients except for the ham thoroughly.
  • Next, use a brush or spoon to glaze between each slice of the ham and around its outer surface.

Step 3: Preheat Your Grill

  • Prepare the grill for indirect or two-zone grilling, with coals and smoke wood on one side and no heat on the other. Aim for a grill temperature of 325°F.

Step 4: Grill It Up!

  • Position the aluminum pan over the side of the grill with no coals. Cook for approximately 12-13 minutes per pound until the internal temperature reaches 140°F-150°F.
  • Brush or baste the exterior of the ham every 20-30 minutes during cooking.

Step 5: Let It Rest

  • When the ham's internal temperature reaches 140°F, remove it from the grill and allow it to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
