Equipment

  • Grill
  • Grill Rack

Ingredients

  • 8 large jalapeño peppers
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 8 slices bacon cut in half lengthwise
  • Toothpicks

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the jalapenos

  • Slice the jalapenos lengthwise in half. Remove any seeds and membranes. If you want extra heat, leave some seeds intact.

Step 2: Prepare the stuffing

  • In a medium bowl, mix the stuffing ingredients until well combined. This includes cream cheese, cheddar cheese, green onions, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Step 3: Assemble the poppers

  • Put the cream cheese mixture into each jalapeno. The jalapenos should be half full.
  • Wrap a piece of bacon around the jalapeno. Use a toothpick to secure them into place.

Step 4: Grill the poppers

  • Grill the poppers for 15-20 minutes over medium-high heat, about 375°F. The bacon will become crispy, and the peppers will be tender.
