Sharing is caring!

Craving a fiery appetizer that packs a punch? These bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers are a delicious and classic appetizer! But did you know you can make them on the grill, not just the oven or smoker?

Imagine sinking your teeth into a crispy bacon exterior, only to be greeted by a gooey center of creamy cheese and spicy jalapeno. It’s a flavor explosion perfect for game day, a casual gathering, or a tantalizing snack while you wait for dinner.

Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers

These bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers are the perfect combination of spicy, creamy, and crunchy. Grilling them adds a smoky depth of flavor that’s hard to resist.

Don’t be fooled by their simplicity. These little bombs of flavor will have your guests asking when the next batch is coming out!!  Whether you prefer a fiery kick or a milder taste, these poppers can be customized to suit any palate. Leave the seeds in for maximum heat, or remove them for a milder option, which is perfect if you’re cooking for kids as well.

Here is why they are so good!

  • Jalapeño peppers: The fiery foundation provides a spicy kick.
  • Cream cheese: A smooth and creamy base for the filling.
  • Shredded cheddar cheese: Adds richness and melty goodness.
  • Crispy bacon: The ultimate wrapper, delivering smoky flavor and satisfying crunch.

What You’ll Need

  • Jalapeño peppers
  • Cream cheese, softened
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Chopped green onions
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Bacon, cut in half lengthwise
  • Toothpicks

How to Make Grilled Poppers

Step 1: Prepare the jalapenos

Slice the jalapenos lengthwise in half. Remove any seeds and membranes. If you want extra heat, leave some seeds intact.

Step 2: Prepare the stuffing

In a medium bowl, mix the stuffing ingredients until well combined. This includes cream cheese, cheddar cheese, green onions, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Step 3: Assemble the poppers

Put the cream cheese mixture into each jalapeno. The jalapenos should be half full.

Wrap a piece of bacon around the jalapeno. Use a toothpick to secure them into place.

Step 4: Grill the poppers

Grill the poppers for 15-20 minutes over medium-high heat, about 375°F. The bacon will become crispy, and the peppers will be tender.

What Temperature to Cook Poppers at

Grill these jalapeno poppers at 375°F for 15-20 minutes. They’re ready when the peppers are tender, and the bacon is crispy. Be sure to let it cool before you gobble them up. Hot cheese has been known to burn a few tongues!

How To Store Leftover Poppers

Store leftover jalapeno poppers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3-4 days. However, you probably won’t have any leftovers unless you make more than you think you’ll need!

What To Serve With Grilled Poppers

This is the perfect appetizer! Serve it with various other appetizers for a fun game day spread. Or as a lead-up to the main course.
