- 4 whole burger patties
- 2 slices cheese
- 1 tbsp olive oill
- 4 whole burger buns
- 1 tbsp kosher salt or seasoning of choice (ancho chili pepper, lemon zest, fresh basil etc)
- 3 tbsp mayonnaise or sauce of choice (red wine vinegar, bbq sauce, tartar sauce etc)
- 1 cup mushroom or toppings of choice (tomatoes, shallots, onions etc),
Get a bowl of water or other liquid. Soak your cedar grilling planks for at least 2 hours.
Place the planks on medium heat and toast for 2-3 minutes.
Using your thumb, make an impression in the center of each burger.
Place the burgers (two per cedar plank) and cook for 3 minutes.
Flip the burgers until they are cooked on both sides.
Melt slices of cheese onto each burger. Add bun to the grill to toast
Remove the burgers from the grill. Add buns, toppings, sauce, and serve!
