Best George Foreman Grill 2020
Our George Foreman Grill!

George Foreman makes portable electric indoor and outdoor grills. It was introduced in 1994 and has made over 100 million sales worldwide since!

My family has one and we use it pretty much every day!

Every George Foreman grill has a non-stick hot plate, (some model’s plates are removable, perfect for throwing in the dishwasher!)

Some models have several changeable plates. So we can cook all types of food (we have done muffins, omelets, and waffles!).

Because of their compact design, George Foreman grills can be used for tailgating, camping, big cookouts, or parties (the best kind of cooking).

Let’s check out all the George Foreman options!

Charlies Picks For The Best George Foreman Grills

1. George Foreman 6-Serving Panini Press – (Charlie’s Top Choice)

George Foreman 6-Serving Panini Press

I have two words to describe this panini press, quick and affordable.

It’s perfect when you want a grilled cheese fast!

Flick the switch, throw in your sandwich, and it’s done in 5 minutes! Plus due to the price, I think it’s the best George Foreman grill for those people on a budget.

I love that you can remove the grilling plates and throw them in the dishwasher! I won’t recommend getting one without the removable plates!

It has 100 squares inches of space, which works for our family of 4. I’ve managed to fit 5 chicken breasts in it easily.

It’s 100% the best option if you are on a tight budget but still want top-quality food.

What I Liked About it:

  • Non stick coating on it: Way more durable than regular grills plus we didn’t need to use any oil or butter .
  • Sloped design: We are a health conscious family. So we liked that the press also has the classic slope design, it makes it easy to remove the excess fat.
  • We could change the height: this grill also comes with a floating hinge. Having this hinge meant I didn’t have to cut all the food the same size! This hinge is adjustable between 0 and 1 inch
  • Easy to get going: literally just push a button and it starts to heat up.

What I Didn’t Like:

  • The power cord! We wish it had a longer power cord. We had to have it right in the corner near the outlet to use it.

Specifications

  • Weight: 11.65 pounds
  • Dimensions: 6.3 x 15.9 x 15.1 inches
  • Primary Cooking Space: 100 inches square

This panini press was super easy to set up. All you need to do is take it out of the box, give the plates a quick wash, dry them, and plug it in!

Cleaning and Maintenance

The panini press is effortless to clean and maintain. The removable plates can easily be washed or placed in a dishwasher.

The drip tray that collects fats and oil from food. Just a little dishwashing liquid and elbow grease and it’s easy to clean

Do You Get Value For Money?

The George Foreman panini press is worth your money. It is the entry-level model, but it’s backed by the quality of George Foreman. You mightn’t be paying much but it’s made to the same standards as all more expensive George Foreman grills!

Although if you are looking for something a bit more ‘permanent’ in your back yard I would highly recommend checking out the Weber Genesis

2. George Foreman Multi-Plate Evolve Grill (Best for Larger Families)

George Foreman GRP4842MB Multi-Plate Evolve Grill

We couldn’t believe the George Foreman Evolve could get to 500°F in 90 seconds!

One of those old electric grills would NEVER be able to sear steak! Its’ (also) like having your grill indoors. We use this George Foreman to cook our steaks on a weeknight!

Not only could we GRILL steak in it. The changeable plates mean we could try making gooey brownies, omelets, muffins, juicy burgers, and WAFFLES!! It has a similar size cooking space as the panini press. We were able to get 4 smaller steaks cooking them in at once. So it’s good for weeknight cooking, not a cookout!

What I Like About It:

  • Those world famous ceramic plates! George Foreman grills are world renowned for there non stick ceramic coating. That means no need to use butter or oil, which ALSO means clean up is super easy!
  • Searing – The grill has the option to get small bursts of 500°! That means we didn’t need to fire up the grill to do our steaks on a weeknight!
  • Cooking Angle is Adjustable: George Foreman is famous for the tilted plate to remove the excess fat. But this model allowed to either have it tilted or flat. Sometimes you want that extra flavour from the fat!
  • Cool-touch: We could change the hot plates due to their new technology!! It called cool touch release, no more waiting for the plates to cool down to change them or risk burning your fingers!
  • Super Easy Digital Panel: This grill has a digital display panel that showed us the time and temperature.

What I Didn’t Like About It:

I found after about 18 months the nonstick surface wasn’t working as well. Food started to stick a little. But we had been using it flat out!

3. George Foreman GGR50B 15-Serving Electric Grill

George Foreman GGR50B 15-Serving Electric Grill

Thought the George Foreman was for making grilled cheeses? This grill is one that stands out from all other grills, literally.

I was able to feed 10 hungry guests at our cookout with it. It is perfect for our block parties, cookouts, and tailgating because it’s so easy to move.

I bet you have seen them on many apartment balconies! My sister has one at her apartment and raves about it!

Just, like many of George Foreman’s grills, this has a non-stick coating on its 240 square of cooking surface.

What I Liked About it:

  • We could use it indoors and out: We liked that we could use it outside, but if it starts raining or gets chilly we could bring it in.
  • 5 different temperature options! The heating settings on this grill is also different. You can choose between five settings to get the type of temperature you need.
  • Heaps of cooking space. We could feed a crowd with this one. 240 inches meant we could easily feed 10 HUNGRY adults!
  • Apartment Approved: You can use this grill indoors and outdoors. The electric system eliminates the risk of hazards, fumes, or flare-ups.
  • You can use it on the stand or just on the kitchen bench!. It good to be able to prop the grill on the stand for cooking outdoors, then have the option to bring it inside and put it on the kitchen bench.

We I Didn’t Like.

Super short power cable: without an extension cord it was hard to get this plugged into any outlet.
The base: if you look at the design, it’s not super sturdy, when it does get windy we usually move it inside or into some shelter.

Same as its big brother, I’d describe it as; quick and affordable.
